AMD Ryzen 6000 Processors Unveiled- 6nm Process, Zen 3+ Architecture & RDNA 2 Graphics

AMD Ryzen 6000 Mobile Processors Series were announced today at a virtual conference held in conjunction with CES 2022.

The Ryzen 6000 Mobile CPUs are manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process and are based on the Zen 3+ architecture. They feature a considerable enhancement in the form of RDNA 2 graphics.

AMD promises that these new chips will be capable of running the majority of AAA games at 1080p without the use of dedicated graphics.

The graphics performance of Ryzen 6000 processors will be more than double that of the previous generation’s Radeon graphics.

You can also expect more than just a speed boost. To save battery life, AMD says it’s Zen 3+ core can go into deeper sleep states to save battery life. It has better adaptive power management features. While video conferencing, the Ryzen 6000 chips should use about 30% less energy.

Even more, AMD promises up to 24 hours of movie playback. In terms of security, the Ryzen 6000 is the first platform to have Microsoft’s new Pluton security chip.

New Ryzen 6000 processors in the U- and H-series have a maximum clock speed of 5 GHz. They were unveiled today and will be available soon. In comparison to the previous generation, AMD claims a 1.3x increase in processing speed and a 2.1x increase in graphics performance.

AMD Ryzen 6000 Processors, of course, supports updated technologies such as DDR5, PCIe 4.0, USB4, and Wi-Fi 6E. The lack of Thunderbolt on AMD-powered PCs has put them at a disadvantage, and USB4 is intended to make up for that. However, USB4 is effectively the Thunderbolt 3 equivalent.

In February, AMD Ryzen 6000 laptops should be available. Many new laptops with new chips are being announced today.

AMD also launched the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which features AMD 3D V-Cache Technology for improved gaming performance. According to AMD, it should result in a 5% faster 1080p gaming experience. The processor features eight cores and sixteen threads, a boost clock of up to 4.5GHz, 100MB of total cache, and a 105W thermal design power. It will arrive this spring.

There’s still more. Both mobile and desktop graphics are getting a boost from AMD. New AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT and the Radeon RX 6000S series, which includes the 6800S and 6700S. If you want to play games on your laptop, you’ll start to see laptops with the Radeon RX 6850M XT at the top of the list. An “epic” 1440p gaming experience is what AMD says it can do.

When it comes to the Radeon RX 6000S series, it’s all about slimmer forms that weigh less than 4.5 pounds. The Radeon RX 6800S can play games at 1080p at up to 100 frames per second.

People will be able to buy laptops with the Radeon RX 6850M XT in the second quarter of this year. The 6000S graphics laptops are expected to arrive in the first quarter.

Last but not least, AMD is introducing the Radeon RX 6500 XT and the Radeon RX 6400 for PCs. The first promises to be 35 percent faster at 1080p than a PC with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. Furthermore, it costs just $199 to buy.

The Radeon RX 6400 is also aimed at games that are played in Full HD. It looks like pre-built PCs will have it in the first half of this year. The 6500 XT will be out in Q1.

Ryzen 7000 Processors

Oh, by the way, AMD showed off Zen 4 on stage today. Zen 4 will be made on TSMC’s 5nm process and the chips will be called as Ryzen 7000 series.

AMD says that its Ryzen 7000 series chips will run at 5GHz when playing games.

The upcoming processor has a new socket design called LGA 1718 (land grid array) and is named AM 5. It has pins on all sides that can be seen from the top of the CPU. In this case, this will be the first time that AMD switches from using PGA sockets to LGA sockets.

AM5 will support PCI Express 5.0 and DDR5 memory.AMD says the next-generation Ryzen CPUs (with Zen 4 cores) and their Socket AM5 platform will be out in the second half of this year.
