Bitdefender Antivirus Free has been released for Windows. Surprisingly, barely three months after ending its previous free antivirus software for Windows, security giant Bitdefender has introduced a revised version.
According to Bitdefender, the new and redesigned free Antivirus software has more features, functionality, and a better user experience than the previous free version. These features include malware protection and the ability to schedule scans.
It also comes with email protection for Outlook and Thunderbird, which adds another layer of protection against malware. Besides that, there is also a feature that tells people if their computer can be hacked or is at risk.
The new Free Antivirus for Windows has been completely rebuilt to detect and eliminate the most recent dangers directed at today’s modern machines.
The free version uses the same antivirus engine as the commercial products from Bitdefender and has consistently performed well in recent tests.
Even if it’s not the main selling point, Bitdefender Antivirus Free’s interface is basic and easy to use, making it suitable for users of all skill levels. However, it’s important to note that there are a wide variety of security options available.
In the free version, you get antivirus protection, which includes on-demand scanning of the devices it’s on and web protection. It also has “advanced threat defense,” which tries to stop zero-day attacks.
Bitdefender says that the program protects against all advanced threats. When you buy the plus edition (commercial version), you can get extra features like ransomware remediation or a firewall that you can use.
