PUBG: Battlegrounds is now free to play and can be played on PC and consoles by everyone, publisher Krafton said on Wednesday.
With the 15.2 Update, PUBG: Battlegrounds moves to a free-to-play model, introduces tactical gear and an action queue.
Along with the launch, Krafton, the publisher of the popular mobile battle royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India, has offered a one-time, non-recurring Battlegrounds Plus premium account upgrade.
The premium version comes with an extra G-Coin, a 100% boost in Survival Mastery XP, special in-game items, and the ability to play ranked games.
Since its launch in 2017, the game has sold over 75 million copies—it was formerly priced at Rs. 999 in India but is now available for free on Steam.
Additionally, the game is available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, and Xbox One X.

However, gamers interested in accessing extra in-game awards, as well as ranked and custom match modes, will need to pay $12.99 (about Rs. 960) for a premium account upgrade.
Fortunately, existing PUBG: Battlegrounds players who are already adept at preparing chicken dinners will receive free Battlegrounds Plus account status as well as the mall goth-themed “Battle-hardened Legacy” outfit, as they did pay for the game prior to its move to free-to-play.
Gamers who buy the Battlegrounds Plus premium account upgrade will get an extra 1,300 G-Coin as well as a 100% boost in Survival XP.
Additionally, gamers who upgrade their accounts will gain access to the Medal tab in career mode, as well as ranked and custom match features. It also gives you in-game items like the Captain’s Camo set.
To celebrate the game’s relaunch, Krafton is giving away all kinds of rewards through Drops events. It’s possible to watch live streams, do in-game tasks, and invite friends to play to get extra items for your character.
