There is an interdimensional evil, called the Root, that has ravaged and overrun the world after the end of the world. Remnant: From the Ashes takes place in this world.
The player takes on the role of a roaming apocalyptic survivor determined to put an end to the Root by traveling to a tower on an island that looks to be the invasion’s epicenter.
The game has taken mechanics from games such as the Souls series, but instead of focusing exclusively on melee combat, it integrates a third-person shooter element, allowing the player to wield up to two gun weapons alongside their melee weapon.
Players can make their own character and fight hard enemies and bosses in a randomly generated world, but the player still has a set story to follow.
Players can use materials they find in the world to enhance their weapons and armor. They can also get trait points, which they can use to improve the stats of their playable character.
