Samsung announced the Odyssey Neo G8 today, which is the world’s first 4K 240Hz gaming monitor. This is in advance of CES 2022, which takes place in January.
Samsung claims that this is the world’s first monitor featuring a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) 1000R curved screen, 240Hz refresh rate, and 1ms reaction time (GtG).
The Neo G8 32″ (Model Number: G85NB) gaming monitor is ready to usher in a new era of gaming display innovation, delivering razor-sharp performance to even the most devoted PC gamers.
The Neo G8 has a sleek white exterior that stands out even when it’s turned off. This makes the Odyssey Neo G8 look good even when it’s turned off.
CoreSync lighting makes beautiful colors jump out of the screen and into the user’s real world. The core lighting on the back of the monitor automatically picks up on the colors on the screen and projects them in real life to make the game more realistic.
Key Features of Odyssey Neo G8:
The Neo G8 comes equipped with a 32-inch quantum mini-LED display that is curved (1000R curvature) and supports 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160).
This monitor’s maximum brightness is 2,000 nits, courtesy of Samsung’s Quantum HDR 2000 technology. Additionally, this display supports a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 for increased detail.
Along with the enhanced display technology, this monitor includes a slew of gaming-related convenience features, including CoreSync, which enables users to customize their setup with numerous color modes dependent on the content displayed on the screen, and Auto Source Switch+.
The Neo G8 supports Adaptive-Sync on DP1.4 and HDMI2.1 VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) via HDMI 2.1, as well as NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
Samsung has opted to share this news just before the onslaught of CES 2022 announcements, though we’ll have to wait until after the trade show to find out more about the Odyssey Neo G8, like price and availability.
